Scalp Micropigmentaion
Scalp micropigmentation also called as hair tattoo is a non-surgical method to give your bald scalp or thinning hair a more aesthetic appearance.
How is it done?
Before the commencement of the procedure your physician will assess the scalp and degree of baldness and will also create a hairline suitable for you. The procedure involves deposition of a pigment matching the color of your hair, into the scalp with the help of very fine needles. With every dot being created a small amount of pigment is deposited in the layers of the skin. The pigment in the upper layers gets washed away in the initial head wash but the deeper layer pigment becomes more permanent. When done by qualified and experienced physician, under aseptic conditions the, procedure is virtually painless with minimum discomfort.
How long does the procedure take?
The duration of the procedure greatly varies and is based upon the area of the scalp that needs to be covered. The whole procedure can be divided into 2-3 sessions depending upon the comfort of the patient. The usual interval between two sessions can be anything between one week to a month.
What is the post procedure care?
This is an office based procedure with almost zero downtime and requires minimum post procedure care. Slight redness may remain on the scalp for 2-3 days but the patient can resume to his/her normal routine from the very next day.
In what patients can it be done?
It can be done in patients of all age group with any degree of baldness. The procedure can also be done to camouflage ugly scars present on the scalp due to previous hair transplant, hair diseases, trauma or burns.
